Who Is Our Team?
Our team consists of experienced iGaming professionals, data analysts, and responsible gambling advocates based across Ireland. Each member brings unique expertise to ensure our reviews are comprehensive, accurate, and genuinely helpful for Irish players.
We’re not just writers copying press releases – we’re real people who test casinos, analyze bonus terms, and speak to support teams. We’ve seen the industry from the inside, and we know what matters to players.
Meet the ICEP.ie Team
Liam O’Connor – Founder & Chief Casino Reviewer
Based in Dublin
Liam O’Connor is an Irish iGaming analyst and casino reviewer with over 7 years of experience in the online gambling industry. Based in Dublin, he focuses on helping Irish players find safe, licensed casinos with fair bonuses and transparent terms.
He started his career in digital marketing, working with affiliate websites in the betting niche. Over time, Liam noticed that many platforms promoted misleading bonuses and unclear wagering requirements – that’s when he shifted into content and reviews, aiming to bring honesty (and a bit of Irish skepticism) into the industry.
At ICEP.ie, Liam oversees all casino reviews, licensing verification, and editorial standards. When he’s not testing withdrawal speeds or reading 50-page Terms & Conditions documents, you’ll find him at a GAA match or debating the best pub in Temple Bar.
Siobhan Murphy – Bonus & Promotions Analyst
Based in Cork
Siobhan is our bonus detective. With 5 years of experience in affiliate marketing and casino promotions, she has an uncanny ability to spot the difference between a genuinely good offer and a marketing gimmick wrapped in confusing terms.
Before joining ICEP.ie, Siobhan worked in casino operations where she designed promotional campaigns – which means she knows exactly how wagering requirements, game weightings, and maximum bet rules are structured to favor the house.
Her mission at ICEP.ie is simple: decode every bonus offer, calculate the real value, and tell Irish players whether it’s actually worth claiming. She’s the reason our bonus reviews include phrases like “35x wagering on deposit + bonus means you need to wager €3,500 to withdraw €100.”
Siobhan’s golden rule: “If you need a calculator and a law degree to understand a bonus, it’s probably not worth your time.”
Ciarán Walsh – Payment Methods & Security Specialist
Based in Galway
Ciarán is our payments guru and cybersecurity watchdog. With a background in fintech and online fraud prevention, he brings 6 years of experience analyzing payment processors, withdrawal speeds, and casino security measures.
At ICEP.ie, Ciarán is responsible for testing every payment method, verifying SSL certificates, checking license validity, and ensuring the casinos we recommend actually pay out winnings. He’s personally tested withdrawal times at dozens of casinos – some impressively fast, others… well, let’s just say he’s still waiting on a few.
He also monitors player complaints about delayed payments, declined withdrawals, and verification issues, keeping our reviews updated with real-world experiences.
Fun fact: Ciarán once waited 17 days for a €50 withdrawal from an unlicensed casino (which we obviously don’t recommend). That experience fuels his passion for transparency in the industry.
Aoife Kelly – Mobile Gaming & UX Reviewer
Based in Limerick
Aoife is our mobile casino specialist and user experience analyst. With 4 years in web design and mobile app development, she evaluates how casinos perform on smartphones and tablets – because in 2026, most Irish players are spinning slots on their phones, not desktops.
She tests every casino on multiple devices (iOS, Android, different browsers) to check loading speeds, navigation, game performance, and whether that “mobile-optimized” claim is actually true or just marketing speak.
Aoife also reviews casino apps, checking if they’re worth downloading or if the mobile browser version works better. Her reviews answer questions like: “Can I actually deposit using Apple Pay?” and “Will this live dealer stream drain my battery in 10 minutes?”
Her pet peeve: Casinos that claim to be “mobile-friendly” but have buttons so small you need a stylus from 2007 to hit them.
Dara Brennan – Game Selection & Software Analyst
Based in Belfast
Dara is our games library expert and software provider specialist. With 8 years of experience in the gaming industry (including time as a QA tester for a major slot developer), he knows the difference between a quality game and a reskinned clone.
At ICEP.ie, Dara reviews game portfolios, identifies which software providers a casino partners with, and highlights standout titles worth playing. He also tracks RTP percentages, volatility levels, and whether a casino’s “10,000+ games” claim is legitimate or inflated by counting every payline variation as a separate game.
He’s particularly passionate about transparency in RTP reporting and advocating for casinos that display payout percentages openly.
Dara’s motto: “A casino with 500 quality games beats one with 5,000 slots you’ve never heard of.”
Maeve O’Brien – Responsible Gambling Advocate
Based in Dublin
Maeve is our responsible gambling specialist and player protection advocate. With a background in counseling and addiction support, she ensures that every casino we recommend takes player welfare seriously – not just as a checkbox exercise, but with genuine tools and support.
She evaluates self-exclusion options, deposit limits, reality checks, and access to support resources like Gamblingcare.ie. Maeve also monitors how casinos handle vulnerable players and whether they push aggressive marketing tactics.
At ICEP.ie, her role is to remind everyone – team and readers alike – that gambling should be entertainment, not a solution to financial problems.
If a casino makes it difficult to set limits or self-exclude, Maeve makes sure that’s prominently mentioned in our review.
Our Story
ICEP.ie was born out of frustration.
In 2023, founder Liam O’Connor was researching online casinos for a friend who wanted to play legally in Ireland. What he found was a mess of misleading bonus claims, buried wagering requirements, and “review sites” that were clearly just copy-pasting casino marketing materials.
The final straw? A website claiming a casino offered “instant withdrawals” – when the actual terms stated 3-5 business days, plus up to 48 hours for verification. When Liam’s friend signed up, won €200, and had to wait a week to get paid, he decided enough was enough.
That’s when ICEP.ie was created.
The goal was simple: build an honest, transparent casino review platform that actually helps Irish players instead of just collecting affiliate commissions. A site where the Terms & Conditions are read before recommending a casino, not after someone complains.
Today, ICEP.ie is a small but dedicated team of Irish iGaming professionals committed to cutting through the marketing hype and giving players the information they actually need.
Dublin HQ
Our main office is based in Dublin, where most of our team works. This is where casino testing happens, bonus terms get decoded, and team debates over whether 35x or 40x wagering is “acceptable” turn into passionate discussions (Siobhan insists anything over 30x is highway robbery).
Dublin is also home to our content production, partnerships, and technical infrastructure.
Cork
Siobhan Murphy, our Bonus Analyst, works remotely from Cork. Her location gives her a unique perspective on payment methods popular in Munster, and she’s particularly vigilant about casinos accepting Revolut – a payment method beloved by Irish players but sometimes restricted by operators.
Galway
Ciarán Walsh, our Payment & Security Specialist, operates from Galway. His location allows him to monitor European payment trends and fintech developments, ensuring our payment method reviews reflect the latest options available to Irish players.
Belfast
Dara Brennan, our Game & Software Analyst, is based in Belfast. His position in Northern Ireland gives him insight into UK-Ireland gambling market crossovers and regulatory differences, which is valuable when reviewing casinos that operate in both jurisdictions.
The Purpose of ICEP.ie
Our purpose is to protect Irish players from bad casinos and help them find good ones.
That means:
- Only recommending licensed casinos – If it doesn’t have a valid license from a recognized authority (Irish Revenue Commissioners, MGA, UKGC, or equivalent), it doesn’t make our list.
- Honest bonus reviews – We calculate the real value of bonuses, explain wagering requirements in plain English, and highlight hidden terms that might cost you money.
- Real withdrawal testing – We don’t just list what casinos claim about payout speeds. We test them (or compile verified player reports) to tell you what actually happens.
- Transparent affiliate disclosure – We earn commissions, but we’re upfront about it. Our reviews are never influenced by how much a casino pays us – if it’s bad, we say so.
- Responsible gambling advocacy – Every review includes responsible gambling information, and we promote tools like self-exclusion, deposit limits, and support resources.
- Independence – We’re not owned by gambling operators, and we never will be. Our loyalty is to Irish players, not casino marketing departments.
Our Audience
ICEP.ie is for Irish players who want honest information about online casinos.
Our typical reader is:
- Based in Ireland (Republic of Ireland primarily, though our reviews cover casinos available to Irish players)
- Looking for licensed, legal casinos – not offshore scams or shady operators
- Wants to understand bonus terms before claiming offers
- Values transparency – tired of marketing hype and hidden T&Cs
- Plays responsibly – treats gambling as entertainment, not income
- Appreciates detail – prefers a 2,000-word honest review over a 200-word sales pitch
Whether you’re a casual slots player, a live casino enthusiast, or someone researching their first online casino, ICEP.ie is here to give you the straight story.
What Does the ICEP.ie Team Do?
Our process is thorough, and it’s the same for every casino we review:
1. License Verification Ciarán checks the casino’s license status with the issuing authority. No license = no review.
2. Account Registration & Testing Team members create real accounts, make deposits, and test the user experience from signup to withdrawal.
3. Bonus Analysis Siobhan decodes the bonus terms, calculates wagering requirements, checks game weightings, and determines the real value.
4. Game Library Review Dara evaluates the game selection, identifies software providers, checks RTP information, and highlights standout titles.
5. Payment Method Testing Ciarán tests deposit and withdrawal methods, verifies processing times, checks fees, and monitors payout reliability.
6. Mobile Testing Aoife tests the casino on multiple devices to evaluate mobile performance, app quality, and cross-platform functionality.
7. Customer Support Evaluation The team contacts support with real questions to test response times, helpfulness, and knowledge.
8. Responsible Gambling Check Maeve reviews self-exclusion options, deposit limits, reality checks, and access to support resources.
9. Ongoing Monitoring We don’t write a review and forget about it. We monitor player feedback, track complaint patterns, and update reviews when terms change.
10. Publishing & Updates Liam oversees final editorial review, ensures accuracy, and schedules regular updates to keep reviews current.
