|Abstract||This paper investigates the effectiveness of the on-line delivery of the Insurance Practice apprenticeship in Ireland, this programme would be unique in that the learning spaces are virtual and this apprenticeship is mainly delivered by the use of distance learning technologies.
The Insurance Practitioner apprenticeship was the first new apprenticeship launched in Ireland in 2016. This apprenticeship at level eight on the NFQ was developed by the Insurance Institute of Ireland and Institute of Technology Sligo and in addition to attaining the level eight qualification under IT Sligo's delegated authority from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), the programme includes embedded awards from the Insurance Institute.
